VINTAGE **~ LAUREL BURCH ~** ** GOLD TONE & ENAMEL ** ~ RED BIRD ~ ** DANGLE HOOK EARRINGS ** _______________________________ SIZE : These earrings measure as follows: 7/8" in width; 1/2" height ~ The dangle hooks do add another 5/8" to the overall height DESCRIPTION : This auction features a pair of vintage Laurel Burch earrings. They have a very distinct, artistic look to them -- something that Laurel Burch was definitely well-known for. These particular earrings have an abstract bird theme. The metal is gold-tone and each bears the image of a bird with deep and light red enameling. There is also a small amount of gold enameling around the face area. The back bears the "Laurel Burch" signature in the middle. Although I am accustomed to seeing a title for these style of earrings, these do not appear to have one. Even so, t hey would be a great addition to any Laurel Burch collection. If anyone should have any additional questions regarding these, please feel free to message me and I'll be happy to help. Please do view the pictures as a part of the overall description, as well. Thank you! CONDITION : FAIR ~ I am considering the age and use of this item when factoring the condition rating . These earrings appear to be in Fair condition for the age and use of them. They do have some minor usage wear seen -- mostly in the form of light surface scratches and some minor gold-tone metal wear. This appears to be most obvious on the backs of each (please see pictures for this). Additionally there is minor storage soiling seen to the gold-tone metal, but I'll leave any polishing and/or cleaning to the new owner. The hooks have a rather unique design in that they curve to an angle (instead of a a more subtle curve) at the very top of each. I do believe this is the way they were made. As these do bear hook closures, I would definitely recommend storing these on a hanging earring post. I've found that trying to lay dangle or hook earrings flat can sometimes cause issues down the line. Obviously, this is just a recommendation but I figured I'd mention it! :) I did check the enameling under a loupe / magnification. I do not see any major issues such as cracks, chips, or missing pieces to the enameling on either earring. Although they could certainly use a gentle cleaning, I do feel they are doing ok. I also feel that they have plenty of years of use and wear left in them. With age and use considered, I would still say these earrings rate in Fair condition overall.
